  • Every person with diabetes or at risk of diabetes deserves the best quality of education, prevention and care.
    Draw public attention to this ,Focus their  attention and Raise awareness among people with diabetes or at risk
    Stimulate research that will foster a better understanding of the socio-cultural origins of diabetes among disadvantaged and vulnerable communities
    Who is the Disadvantaged ? a person or community that is less able to access care
  • Who is the Vulnerable ?
     a person, community or group that is for some reasons is it  increased risk of diabetes
  • Economically disadvantaged:
    Seven out of ten countries with highest number of people living with diabetes are in the developing world where there is  little or no access to life saving and disabilities prevention
    The elderly are significantly more likely to develop diabetes and its complication than the greatest population
    There are also disadvantaged communities as a result of barriers such as language and discrimination
